Macroeconomics, the rap version
John Maynard Keynes and F. A. Hayek rap out their macroeconomic differences in Fear the Boom and Bust. This parody is funny, but is also a ‘simple’ primer on the extremes of our current economic choices. It is relevant in part because Glenn Beck is currently touting Hayek, an obscure Austrian economist, as the answer to all of our economic problems.
Its seems obvious that no economist has all of the answers. This brings to mind an old joke about economics: "If all the economists were laid end to end, they would never reach a conclusion."(George Bernard Shaw?) Certainly they are not all going to agree, and there are vast oceans of uncertainty in any conclusions, when reached, drawn by any one economist.
